What is PDFLocal?

PDFLocal is a PDF toolkit that runs entirely in your web browser. Pick a tool, drop in a file, and the work is done on your own device by WebAssembly engines. Your PDF is never uploaded to a server, and there is no account and nothing to install.

It is built for people who handle private documents, such as contracts, medical records, receipts or scans, and would rather not hand them to a free online converter. The site has 84 tools in 29 languages, plus short guides on how to check for yourself that a PDF tool does not upload your files.

What you get

  • 21 free tools, including merge, split, rotate, remove pages, compress, PDF to images, PDF to Word, extract text, watermark, a viewer and a dark-mode reader
  • 3 free runs a day; free downloads carry a small pdflocal.app footer
  • 63 more tools in Pro: redact, sign, password-protect, OCR, forms, stamps, page numbers, Bates numbering, batch tools, booklet and print layouts and more
  • Pro is a one-time $19 license with no watermark and no daily limit, on up to 3 devices
  • 29 interface languages

About privacy

Your files never leave your device. The site still sends a few small, anonymous requests to its own server: a daily free-use counter, Pro license checks, and totals of which pages and tools get used (skipped when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control). Cloudflare Web Analytics also measures page loads without cookies. None of these contain your files. The full details are in the PDFLocal privacy policy.
