Política de privacidad de LandMarkd
Ultima actualizacion: October 13, 2026
Esta es una traduccion de cortesia. La version en ingles es legalmente vinculante.
This privacy policy explains what happens to your data when you use LandMarkd, the desktop app published by Revolt Bots LLC (“we”, “us”) that works out where your photos were taken. It covers the app only. Our website has its own privacy policy.
The short version
- Your photos are sent to an AI provider. To identify a location, LandMarkd sends each photo you analyze to the provider of the AI model you select: Google (Gemini), OpenAI or Anthropic, using your own API key.
- The complete original file is sent, including any information already embedded in it, such as an existing GPS location, the capture date and camera details. LandMarkd does not resize photos or strip this metadata first.
- We receive nothing. Photos go straight from your computer to the provider. We do not receive, relay or store your photos, results or API keys.
- LandMarkd has no accounts, analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, ads, cookies, in-app payments or automatic update checks.
- Your results, settings and API keys are stored on your computer.
When photos are sent, and to whom
Nothing is sent until you have saved an API key and started an analysis. Then, for each photo in the analysis, LandMarkd sends to the provider of the model you chose:
- the full original image file;
- an instruction prompt. The prompt may include a batch description that you typed or accepted from a suggestion (a suggestion can mention a shared filename pattern, such as “IMG”), and locations already identified for other photos in the same batch;
- your API key for that provider, which authenticates the request.
LandMarkd does not send file names, folder paths or anything that identifies you or your device as part of the analysis.
Some situations send a photo more than once, or to a second provider:
- Retries: if a request fails, LandMarkd may try again (once by default, adjustable in Settings). The providers’ own software libraries can also retry automatically.
- Auto-upgrade (off by default): if you turn on “auto-upgrade low confidence”, a photo with a low-confidence result is sent again to a second model, which can belong to a different provider.
- Interrupted analyses: if you close LandMarkd while an analysis is running, it continues the next time you open the app, and the remaining photos are sent then.
The default model is Gemini 3 Flash from Google. What each provider does with the data it receives, including how long it keeps it and whether it uses it to improve its services, is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policy, not by us: Google, OpenAI, Anthropic. Usage is billed to your own provider account.
What stays on your computer
Everything below is handled locally and never sent anywhere:
- reading the existing metadata of your photos;
- writing GPS coordinates and new file names (to copies; see below);
- building thumbnails;
- suggesting batches, which uses simple rules on file dates, file name patterns and earlier results, not AI.
LandMarkd does not use any map or geocoding service. Coordinates come from the AI model’s answer.
What LandMarkd stores on your computer
| What | Where | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Settings | config.json in the app’s data folder | Default model, rename template, output folder name, limits and similar preferences |
| API keys | Same config.json | Encrypted with your operating system’s secure storage when it is available; otherwise stored unencrypted. The Settings screen tells you which applies. |
| Analysis database | landmarkd.db in the app’s data folder | Projects and batches, the full path and name of each photo, the results (location, coordinates, confidence, cost) and the raw responses from the AI provider |
| Thumbnails | A cache folder in the app’s data folder | Small previews of your photos, limited to 1,500 files |
| Output photos | An output folder next to your source folder | Copies of your photos with GPS data written and/or a new name. Your original photos are never modified. |
| Exports | Wherever you choose | CSV or JSON files you export |
The app’s data folder is the standard per-user application folder on your system (for example under %APPDATA% on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support on macOS, or ~/.config on Linux). Deleting it removes your settings, keys, results and thumbnails.
Data we collect
None. LandMarkd does not send us any data, and we have no way to see your photos or results. The only links to our website or GitHub in the app open in your web browser when you click them. If you contact us through our support form, the website privacy policy covers what you send there.

LandMarkd is not directed at children under 13. Because we collect no data through the app, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
