These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Revolt Bots LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("Revolt Bots LLC", "we", "us", "our"). They govern your use of the website at revoltbots.com (the "Site") and of every application we publish, whether a mobile app, web app, desktop app or browser extension, including their updates, content and features (each an "App"; the Site and the Apps together are the "Services").
By using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Section 19 contains a waiver of jury trials and of class actions; please read it.
1. Who may use the Services
You must be at least the age of majority where you live, or use the Services with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or a higher age where local law requires it), and children under that age may not use them.
If you use the Services on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you may bind it to these Terms, and "you" includes that organization.
2. App-specific terms and privacy
Some Apps have additional terms or their own privacy policy, shown in the App, on its store listing or on its website. Those apply together with these Terms; where they conflict, the App-specific terms govern that App. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and in each App's privacy policy, which are listed there.
3. Your license to use the Apps
Subject to these Terms and to any payment that applies, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable license to install and use each App for your own purposes on devices you own or control, within any device or activation limit stated for that App. The Apps are licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted.
Where an App's source code is published under an open-source license, that license governs your use of the source code; these Terms govern everything else, including the App as we distribute it and any paid features or services. Open-source components included in an App remain subject to their own licenses.
4. What you may not do
You agree not to, and not to help anyone else to:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense or publicly display an App, except as these Terms or an applicable open-source license allow;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble an App, except to the extent the law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
- remove, bypass or tamper with license checks, paywalls, usage limits, activation limits, watermarks or security features;
- share, publish, resell or transfer a license key or account, or use one on more devices than its license allows;
- use the Services in violation of any law, or to infringe anyone's rights;
- upload or process content you do not have the right to use, or content that is unlawful, harmful or infringing;
- interfere with, overload or disrupt the Services, or access them by automated means other than the interfaces we provide, except that search engines and AI assistants may read the Site in line with its robots.txt;
- introduce malware, or probe or test the Services' security without our written permission (report vulnerabilities through the support form);
- submit false or misleading information, including through our forms; or
- use the Services to build a competing product, or misrepresent your relationship with us.
5. Accounts and license keys
Some Services let you sign in or give you a license key. Keep your sign-in links, devices and keys secure; you are responsible for activity under them. Tell us promptly through the support form if you believe a key or account has been misused. We may deactivate a license key or account that has been shared beyond its license, refunded, charged back, or used in breach of these Terms.
An App may check its license key with the reseller that issued it when you activate it and from time to time afterwards, which needs an internet connection. A key that the reseller reports as invalid, refunded, disabled or expired stops unlocking the paid features.
6. Purchases
App Store and Google Play
Purchases and subscriptions bought inside an App installed from the Apple App Store or Google Play are sold and billed by Apple or Google under their terms. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google; we cannot issue refunds for them. Use your Apple or Google account to manage or cancel them.
Purchases outside the app stores
Purchases made on the Site, on an App's website, or through a checkout page opened from an App or browser extension are processed by the online reseller named at checkout (for example Lemon Squeezy or Paddle.com), which acts as the merchant of record and is the seller of the order. Its buyer terms apply to the payment, taxes, invoicing and the refunds it processes; these Terms apply to your use of what you bought. Prices are shown at checkout and may include or add taxes depending on where you are.
What you buy is a license to use the software or content under Section 3 and the product's description, usually delivered as a license key; you do not buy the software itself. A one-time purchase (sometimes called a lifetime license) unlocks the features it describes for as long as we offer and support that App on the browser or platform it was bought for, with the number of activations stated at purchase. It does not include separately sold products or features.
Pricing errors and changes
We may change prices and what each plan includes at any time; a change applies from your next purchase or renewal, not to a period you have already paid for. If a price is shown in error we may cancel the order and refund it.
7. Subscriptions and free trials
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, until you cancel it. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period (for store purchases, Apple's and Google's own deadlines apply). After cancellation you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. A free trial converts into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then. Cancelling is as easy as subscribing: through your Apple or Google account for store purchases, or through the link in your receipt or account for website purchases.
8. Refunds
App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded only by Apple or Google, under their policies.
Purchases outside the app stores. Each product has its own refund policy, shown on its product page or at checkout before you pay; it applies together with the reseller's buyer terms. Where a product's policy says nothing else, all sales are final once the digital content, license key, credits or access has been delivered, except where the law requires a refund.
Right of withdrawal (EU, EEA, UK and similar laws). If you are a consumer with a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content or services within 14 days, you can ask at checkout for supply to start immediately and acknowledge that you lose that right once it starts. If you do, the right ends when the content, license key, credits or access is made available to you, whether or not you use it afterwards. If you do not, you may withdraw within 14 days of purchase, minus the value of anything already supplied where the law allows.
Steps that end refund eligibility. Some products deliver part of their value at a specific step, such as downloading a file, opening paid content or using credits. Where a product's refund policy says such a step ends refund eligibility, we tell you before that step and ask you to confirm; confirming and completing the step ends any refund under that policy.
Refunds go to the original payment method. A refund or chargeback ends the license or access it covers. Nothing in these Terms limits a refund or withdrawal right that the law gives you and that cannot be waived.
9. Information only: not professional advice
The Services provide tools and general information. Results they produce, including calculations, estimates, projections, amortization schedules, conversions, transcriptions, summaries, suggestions and any AI-generated output, may be incomplete, approximate or wrong, and depend on the information you enter and on assumptions that may not fit your situation.
- Financial, tax and legal: nothing in the Services is financial, investment, lending, mortgage, tax, accounting or legal advice, or an offer of credit. Actual rates, payments, fees, taxes and terms are set by your lender, the tax authorities and your agreements. Confirm any figure with a qualified professional or your lender before relying on it.
- Prices, savings and refunds from sellers: spending summaries, savings estimates, price drops and price adjustment or refund suggestions are based on the data available to the App and may be incomplete or out of date. The seller decides whether to honour a price adjustment, refund or offer; we do not promise that it will.
- Health: nothing in the Services is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and no App is a medical device. Talk to a qualified health professional about any health question. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
- AI output: output generated with artificial intelligence can be inaccurate or inappropriate. Review it before you use or share it; you are responsible for how you use it.
You use the results at your own risk and are solely responsible for decisions you make based on them.
10. Your content and your data
You keep all rights to the files, text, audio and other content you put into the Services ("Your Content"). Many Apps process Your Content on your own device; where an App sends it to us or to a provider, it does so only to provide the feature you asked for, as described in that App's privacy policy. You confirm that you have the rights needed to use Your Content in the Services.
Keep your own backups. Apps may store data only on your device, where it can be lost if you delete the App, clear its data or lose the device, and processing a file can produce an unexpected result. Keep copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. We are not responsible for lost or damaged content.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without restriction or payment to you.
11. Third-party services
The Services may let you use or link to services we do not control, such as AI providers, app stores, payment resellers, cloud storage and websites. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them, and we are not responsible for them. If an App lets you use your own API key with a provider, you are responsible for that key, for complying with the provider's terms, and for any charges the provider bills you.
Advertising. Free versions of some Apps show ads from third-party networks such as Google AdMob, which collect data as described in that App's privacy policy. The ad networks choose and serve the ads; we are not responsible for their content or for the products they promote. Ads help pay for the free versions, so where an App detects that ads are blocked it may ask you to allow them, or limit some free features until they are allowed or the paid version is bought.
Apps that work with other websites. Some Apps, such as browser extensions, work with a website or account run by another company, for example a store where you have a membership. That company does not make, endorse or support our App unless we say so. You use your own account there, under that company's terms, and you are responsible for complying with them. That website can change at any time, which may stop some or all of an App's features from working until we update it, or for good. We are not responsible for that company's website, content, prices or decisions.
12. Updates, availability and changes
We may update, change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services, including features, Apps and supported platforms, at any time. Some updates may be required to keep using an App. We try to keep the Services available but do not promise that they will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free. If we discontinue a paid App or feature that you paid for and that we can no longer provide, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
13. Intellectual property and trademarks
The Services, including their software, design, text, graphics and logos, belong to Revolt Bots LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. "Revolt Bots", "FormatShift", "LandMarkd", "PDFLocal", "Skyborn", "Tacet" and the associated logos are trademarks of Revolt Bots LLC. You may not use them without our written permission, except to refer to our products accurately.
Other names and logos shown in the Services belong to their owners. Apple, the Apple logo, iPhone and iPad are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries and regions; App Store is a service mark of Apple Inc. Google Play, the Google Play logo, Google Chrome and Chrome Web Store are trademarks of Google LLC. Costco is a trademark of Costco Wholesale Corporation. Revolt Bots LLC is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Apple, Google or any other company whose marks appear in the Services, unless we say so.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES AND EVERYTHING PROVIDED THROUGH THEM ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES OR THEIR RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, RELIABLE OR MEET YOUR NEEDS, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REVOLT BOTS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, SAVINGS, DATA, GOODWILL OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT THAT GAVE RISE TO IT, AND (B) US $50.
These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. They do not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law forbids limiting it.
16. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Revolt Bots LLC and its members, managers, employees, contractors and agents from any claim, loss, liability, damage and expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of Your Content, your misuse of the Services, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
17. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end your access to any or all of the Services, and deactivate license keys, if you breach these Terms, if we must do so by law, or to protect the Services, other users or us. Sections 4, 9 to 11 and 13 to 22 survive termination, along with any other terms that by their nature should.
18. Export and sanctions
You may not use, export or re-export the Services in violation of U.S. or other applicable export control and sanctions laws. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a comprehensive U.S. embargo and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or the Services are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Before starting any legal proceeding, you agree to first contact us through the support form with a description of the dispute and to try to resolve it informally with us for at least 30 days.
Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be decided exclusively by the state or federal courts located in Palm Beach County, Florida, and you and we consent to their personal jurisdiction, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court where it qualifies. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and we each waive the right to a jury trial, and agree that claims may be brought only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective or representative proceeding.
If you are a consumer living in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country whose law gives you mandatory protections, nothing in this section deprives you of those protections or of the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice through the Services or by email where we have your address. Changes apply from the date they are posted, or from the date stated in the notice; they do not apply to a dispute that arose before then. If you keep using the Services after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
21. Apple App Store terms
This section applies when you obtain an App from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and Revolt Bots LLC only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Revolt Bots LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Your license to the App is limited to use on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are Revolt Bots LLC's responsibility, to the extent they cannot be disclaimed under these Terms.
- Revolt Bots LLC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that the App or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Revolt Bots LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Questions, complaints and claims about the App go to Revolt Bots LLC through the support form or by mail to the address on our Company Facts page.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App, such as your wireless data service agreement.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
22. Google Play and browser extension stores
When you obtain an App from Google Play, these Terms are between you and Revolt Bots LLC only, not Google LLC ("Google"). Google is not responsible for the App, its content, or its maintenance and support. Your use of Google Play is also subject to Google Play's Terms of Service.
The same applies when you install a browser extension from the Chrome Web Store or another browser's add-on store: these Terms are between you and Revolt Bots LLC, the store's operator is not responsible for the extension, and your use of the store is subject to its own terms.
23. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, any App-specific terms and the policies they refer to are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services and replace any earlier agreement on that subject.
- Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent possible and the rest of these Terms stays in full force.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them, for example as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Electronic communications. You agree that we may communicate with you electronically, and that electronic notices satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.
- Language. These Terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience; if they differ, the English version controls.
- No third-party beneficiaries, except as stated in section 21.
